Phil Mickelson Opens Up About Gambling Addiction

Phil Mickelson has been in the news for propensity to bet on sports throughout his storied career.  With football season underway, he spoke candidly about his gambling addiction.  I read this story on FoxNews, but it was picked up by many media outlets and I’m here today to give you my take on Phil Mickelson’s gambling addiction.

    Phil Mickelson and Gambling

Wagering on football is something that is very common for many people across the world.  Whether it’s as simple as playing fantasy football amongst friends, or wagering in sportsbooks, it happens.  In a recent post on Twitter, (now X) golf legend Phil Mickelson opened up about his own time betting on football and offered some caution to people who may have trouble controlling their addiction.

As a recovering gambling addict, he urged people to use their head when wagering on football.

“Most of you will enjoy this football season with moderation while having lots of fun and entertainment,” Mickelson began. “The fantasy leagues will provide banter amongst friends and money won or lost betting won’t affect you. I [won’t] be betting this year because I crossed the line of moderation and into addiction which isn’t any fun at all. The money wasn’t ever the issue since our financial security has never been threatened, but I was so distracted I wasn’t able to be present with the ones I love and caused a lot of harm.

“This lack of presence has been so hurtful. ‘You’re here but you’re not with us,’ is something I’ve been told often throughout my addiction,” he continued. “It affected those I care about in ways I wasn’t aware or could fully understand. It’s like a hurricane is going on outside and I’m isolated in a shelter oblivious to what was happening. When I came out there was so much damage to clean up that I just wanted to go back inside and not deal with it.”

It’s stated that somewhere between 2 and 4 million every year go through a sort of addiction to gambling.  No matter what the consequences are, they continue to wager on sports.

While Mickelson has career earnings that ensure he can’t get too hurt no matter what his losses amount to, he alluded to other people not having that luxury.  Losing money can destroy families and cause a lot of damage to people who depend on their financial well-being.

His former associate, Billy Walters, has accused him of wagering more than $1 billion on sports over the last 30 years.  He even detailed how Mickelson asked someone to make a wager of $400,000 on the U.S. Ryder Cup team to win in 2012 because he had a hunch they would not lose.

Phil has come out and denied this claim.

Over the last decade, Mickelson’s propensity to gamble has come to light throughout many media outlets.  In 2015, court documents told the story of how $3 million was sent by Mickelson to someone who was part of an “illegal gambling operation,” ESPN reported.  He was also linked to a mob bookie in the year 2007.  Mickelson has never been charged with any crimes.

In other news, Mickelson was linked to an insider-trading scandal back in 2014.  Walters was also part of this scheme and was convicted on securities fraud and conspiracy in 2017.  Mickelson was not charged in this matter, but he did settle a civil case and gave up any profits he made to the SEC, according to Golf Digest.

A big tip of the cap to Phil, who came clean and is urging people to be careful.  Your #1 fan salutes you!

  • Phil Mickelson Correctly Called out the PGA Tour and Was Right

If you’ve been following golf this past year, you know all about the LIV Tour and the how it’s impacted golf enthusiasts like me across the world. Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week, you probably also noticed that the PGA Tour succumbed to the money and ended up merging with the LIV Tour.  A year ago from yesterday, my favorite golfer, Phil Mickelson, spoke for the first time publicly since vanishing from the limelight in what is now an iconic interview.

Phil Mickelson and His Exile to LIV Golf

The quote heard ’round the world is posted in the image below, and as it turns out, he was right about every point he made about the PGA Tour.  Pretty much every news outlet is running with this story now, including Yahoo.

    Phil Mickelson Liv Quote

This instantly went down in the history of golf’s greatest rants.  The proclamations made here were beyond accurate, in an almost nostradomus type accuracy.  While the merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf still has some hurdles to clear with the legal beagles, the leverage the golfers got have single-handedly changed the landscape of the PGA Tour as we know it.  Golf, as we knew it, has totally changed for the better.  Everything from higher purses, team play, and even events without cuts, are all on the table.

Phil’s quotes about PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan were spot on, as evidenced in how he treated his number one ally, golfer Rory McIlroy, who became a “sacrificial lamb” along the way.

Always someone who prides himself as being right, Mickelson has the right to celebrate his iconic quotes.  The PGA Tour has compromised morality and decided to take the money and run after a full year of bashing the integrity of the LIV Golf Tour and anyone who joined or supported them.

Some fans have claimed they are finished supporting golf, much like many of them said when they bashed anyone who went on to take the money to join the Liv Tour.

Just this Spring, when fans at home were on the edge of their seat waiting to see how LIV Tour golfers would be treated at the Masters, they witnessed a majestic run by Mickelson to finish second place.  Rather than hide from the moment, Mickelson flashed a huge smile and shook hands with past Masters winners like there wasn’t an elephant in the room.

Having won the Masters three times himself, he was said to be quiet at the Champions Dinner, something much different than in the past where he lit up the room with his persona.  But after playing an incredible tournament, all the weirdness subsided.

Phil had his moment in the sun, in front of everyone who bad-mouthed him.

    And guess what?

He will continue to do that because he is none other than the legend, Phil “Lefty” Mickelson.

  • Phil Mickelson Jet

    Phil Mickelson Jet

As a fan of professional golf, it’s hard not to admire the success and wealth of Phil Mickelson. With over 40 wins on the PGA Tour and five major championships, Mickelson has built an impressive golf career on the fairways.

But as we all know, golfing success often comes with a lavish lifestyle, and one question that frequently pops up among fans is, does Phil Mickelson have a private jet?

Mickelson is known for his luxurious lifestyle, and owning a private jet is just one of the many perks that come with his wealth and success. The jet is reportedly a Gulfstream V, which is a top-of-the-line aircraft favored by many wealthy individuals and corporations.

With a range of up to 6,500 nautical miles, Mickelson’s private jet allows him to travel comfortably and efficiently to his intended flight path and personal engagements around the world.

The History of Phil Mickelson Private Jets

    Phil Mickelson Jet

Phil Mickelson purchased his first private jet, a Gulfstream V, in 2001. This was a significant investment, as a Gulfstream V at the time had a price tag of around $40 million.

However, for Mickelson, the convenience and efficiency of owning his own plane outweighed the cost.

In 2017, Mickelson upgraded his jet to a Gulfstream G550. The G550 is a more advanced model than the Gulfstream V, with a longer range and better fuel efficiency. He said that this jet reduced his stress, and it drops them off whenever they want. It also has a more spacious cabin, making it ideal for long trips with family or teammates.

The Features of This Fantastic Private Jet

The Gulfstream G550, Phil Mickelson’s private jet, is a state-of-the-art aircraft with a range of features that make it a luxurious and efficient mode of transportation.

Some of the notable features of Phil Mickelson’s jet include:

    • Impressive Range: The Gulfstream G550 can travel up to 12,500 km, making it ideal for long-haul flights. This allows Mickelson to reach his destination quickly and efficiently.
    • High Speed: With a maximum speed of Mach 0.885, or 1,048 km/h, the G550 is one of the fastest private plane available, allowing Mickelson to get to his destination in record time.
    • Spacious Cabin: The cabin of the G550 is designed with luxury and comfort in mind. It can accommodate up to 19 passengers, making it ideal for family trips or team travel. The cabin is also equipped with state-of-the-art entertainment systems, including multiple large screens, satellite TV, and Wi-Fi.
    • Luxurious Interiors: The interior of the G550 is decorated with high-quality materials, including leather seats, tiger woods paneling, and high-quality carpeting. This gives the cabin a luxurious and comfortable feel.
    • Advanced Technology: The G550 is equipped with the latest technology, including advanced avionics and navigation systems, to prevent cabin lost pressure, making it one of the safest and most efficient private jets available.
    • Fuel Efficiency: The G550 has a high fuel efficiency, allowing Mickelson to travel long distances without having to refuel. This saves time and money, making it a cost-effective option for frequent travelers.

    Phil Mickelson Jet’s Cost

Phil Mickelson is an accomplished golfer who has amassed considerable wealth over the course of his career. As a result, it is no surprise that he would own a $40-million luxury jet that is designed to offer him the ultimate comfort and convenience while he travels.

The cost of Phil Mickelson’s private jet is indicative of the level of luxury and quality that he demands.

While some may view the cost of owning a private jet as extravagant, for Mickelson, it is a necessity. The jet allows him to travel quickly and efficiently, while also providing him with the privacy and comfort that he requires.

Reasons for Phil Mickelson’s Jet Sale

Phil Mickelson made headlines in 2020 when he announced the sale of his private jet, a Gulfstream G550.

There are several reasons why Mickelson may have decided owning a plane is no longer his dream and had to sell his jet:

    • Cost: As mentioned earlier, owning and operating a jet can be a significant expense. Mickelson may have decided that the cost of ownership was no longer justified, especially if he was not using the jet as frequently but had to maintain pilots under his employ.
    • Environmental Concerns: These kinds of jets are known to have a significant carbon footprint, and Mickelson may have been motivated by environmental concerns to reduce his carbon footprint.
    • Changing Priorities: Mickelson may have shifted his priorities, such as spending more time with his family, which may not require as much travel. In such cases, owning a private jet may no longer be a practical option.

Phil Mickelson reportedly sold his luxurious private jets to a private aviation company called Jet Edge.

The terms of the sale have not been disclosed, but it’s common for private jet sales to involve brokers or intermediaries who handle the negotiations and paperwork. These sales can be complex transactions involving legal and financial considerations and may take several weeks or months to complete.

However, Mickelson’s high-profile status may have made the sale process smoother and quicker.

Advantages of not Owning a Private Jet According to Phil Mickelson

    Private Jet

Phil Mickelson is a professional golfer who is well known for his success on the course, as well as his private jet, which he has owned since 2001.

You would think he’s saying, “I reduced my stress levels by owning one.” However, in a recent interview, Mickelson discussed the advantages of not owning a private jet.

According to Mickelson, one of the main advantages of not owning a private jet is the reduced financial burden and reduced stress levels exponentially.

Owning and maintaining one can be incredibly expensive, and it requires a significant investment of time and resources.

Another advantage of not owning a private jet is the ability to be more flexible with travel plans.

When you own this jet, you are limited to its capabilities and schedule, whereas when you fly commercially, you can choose from a wide range of airlines and flight times.

Finally, Mickelson believes that not owning a private jet can be better for the environment. Private jets have a significant carbon footprint, and by not owning one, you can reduce your carbon footprint and be more environmentally conscious.

    Final Thoughts

Phil Mickelson’s use of a private jet is a topic of debate among fans and critics. While the advantages of traveling quickly and efficiently cannot be denied, the high cost and environmental impact cannot be overlooked.

Despite this, these jets provide privacy and security, which is important for high-profile individuals like Phil Mickelson.

Overall, while there are both advantages and disadvantages to using a jet like this, it ultimately remains a personal choice for individuals to make based on their needs and values.

  • Phil Mickelson Putter

    Phil Mickelson Putter

As a golfer and avid fan of the sport, I have always been fascinated by the equipment used by professional players. From drivers to irons to putters, each club has its own unique design and purpose.

One player who has consistently caught my attention with his putter is Phil Mickelson. The left-handed golfer has had a successful career, winning numerous championships in Callaway Golf and SuperStrokePistol GT Tour grip. He also becomes one of the most recognizable faces in the sport. But it is his putter that has garnered a lot of attention over the years.

The Phil Mickelson putter has become known for its unconventional design and unique features that have helped the golfer achieve success on the greens. Mickelson himself has been involved in the design process and customization, like armlock putters and blade putters for deep double fly, working with manufacturers to create a putter that fits his specific preferences and needs. The result is a club that stands out among other putters on the market.

Unique Features of Phil Mickelson Odyssey Blade Putter

    Phil Mickelson Putter

Phil Mickelson’s Odyssey blade putter is one of the most iconic and recognizable clubs in golf.  The parent company, Callaway, has been a Mickelson Sponsor for a very long time.  It has been a fixture in Mickelson’s bag for over a decade and has helped him win numerous tournaments. Here are some unique features of Phil Mickelson’s Odyssey blade putter that makes it stand out from Mickelson’s previous gamer.

    Blade Style Design

The Odyssey putter is a classic blade prototype style putter, which means it has a narrow head and a straight shaft. Blade-style putters are known for their precision and feel, making them popular among golfers. The putter’s design allows for better control and accuracy when making putts, which is crucial to a golfer’s success on the greens. This putter comes with a convenient golf bag for easy storage and transportation. The bag is designed to accommodate the putter securely and protect it from scratches and other damages.

    Pendulum-Like Stroke

Mickelson uses a pendulum-like stroke, with the putter swinging back and through on a slightly inside-out path. This stroke helps to keep the putter face square to the target line and create a consistent roll on the ball.

    Milled Face

The putter’s face is milled, which means that it has been machine-cut to create a more consistent and precise surface. The milling process helps to create a uniform texture on the putter face, which promotes a more consistent roll on the ball and reduces the frequency of the ball and head contact. This feature is essential for golfers who rely on their putting skills to win tournaments.

    Flare Tip Steel Shaft

The Phil Mickelson Odyssey Blade Putter boasts a flare tip steel shaft, which is a unique and innovative feature that sets it apart from other putters in the market. The flare tip steel shaft provides better stability and control during the putting stroke, ensuring a more accurate shot. This prototype putter feature also enhances the feel of the putter, making it more comfortable to use.

    Odyssey Blade

    Soft Feel

The Odyssey putters have a soft feel, resulting from the insert placed in the face of the putter. The insert is made from a material that is a softer feel than the steel used in the rest of the club. The soft feel provides feedback to the golfer and allows them to make more delicate and precise putts. This feature is especially important when playing on fast greens where a delicate touch is required.

    Modified Grip

Mickelson uses a modified claw grip, which involves placing the left hand in a claw-like position on the putter grip. This grip helps to keep the left wrist from breaking down during the stroke and allows Mickelson to maintain a more consistent putting motion.

    Alignment Aid

The putter has a white alignment aid that runs along the top of the blade. The alignment aid helps golfers to line up their putts more accurately and ensures that the ball is struck with the intended line. The alignment aid is a crucial feature for golfers who struggle with alignment, and it can help to improve their putting accuracy.

    Customization

Phil Mickelson putter is customized to suit his playing style. The putter has a slightly longer shaft than standard putters, which allows Mickelson to stand more upright when making his putts. The putter’s grip is also customized to provide Mickelson with the exact feel and texture that he prefers.

Significance of Phil Mickelson Putter in PGA Championship

Phil Mickelson’s putter played a significant role in his historic victory at the 2021 PGA Championship. Mickelson’s Odyssey White Hot XG PM blade putter has been a staple in his bag for over a decade, and it proved to be the difference-maker at Kiawah Island.

Mickelson’s putting was exceptional throughout the tournament, and he made several clutch putts to secure his victory. His putter’s blade-style design, milled face, soft feel, alignment aid, and customization helped him navigate the challenging greens at Kiawah Island and make the critical putts that he needed to win.

Mickelson’s putter also played a significant role in his mental game. He trusted his putter and had confidence in his ability to make putts when it mattered most. His putter provided him with the consistency and feel that he needed to stay focused and composed, even under pressure.

In the end, Mickelson’s putter was the key to his success at the 2021 PGA Championship. It allowed him to make the putts that he needed to win and gave him the mental edge that he needed to stay focused and composed throughout the tournament. His putter will undoubtedly go down in history as one of the most significant clubs in his career and in PGA Championship Golf history.

    Final Thoughts

Phil Mickelson’s putter is a testament to the importance of customizing one’s golf equipment to suit their specific needs and preferences. His unique approach to putting, including his use of a custom-made Odyssey putter, a modified claw grip, and a pendulum-like stroke, have all contributed to his success as a golfer.

Moreover, his mental game and dedication to practice have helped him become one of the best putters in the world. Mickelson’s approach to putting serves as a great example for golfers of all levels, highlighting the importance of attention to detail, mental focus, and constant practice in order to improve one’s game.

As a legend of the sport, Mickelson’s putter will continue to inspire future generations of golfers to push their boundaries and find their own unique path to success.

  • Phil Mickelson to Be Official Host of PGA Tour Event

The golf tournament formerly known as the Bob Hope Classic has a future, thanks to American Express taking the lead with a sponsorship deal set to run for multiple years, in a deal done earlier this Fall.  This was all reported by Golf Digest.  With the event rumored to be falling off the map of the PGA Tour, there’s even more reason to be excited about it being around thanks to Phil Mickelson’s involvement as the official host starting in the year 2020.

The American Express Golf Tournament Signs Phil Mickelson to Host

    American Express Golf

The 49 year old golfer, and namesake of this fan blog, has been an ambassador of the event in the past, and now he will be front and center instead of working behind the scenes.  Mickelson has been the champion of this tournament twice and also finished second last year in the same event, then called the Desert Classic.  He also owns a property in the Madison Club in La Quinta, where it will be played.

It’s always been an important part of my life. I would come out here and play junior tournaments here

    -Phil Mickelson

    he continued….

I’ve always been passionate about here, and I love the tournament itself. But more than that, this tournament has meant historically a lot to this area, and I want to bring back the vision of Bob Hope.

    -Phil Mickelson

Featuring 156 PGA Tour professionals as well as some amateurs participating at three different courses in La Quinta, the American Express will have a huge $6.7 million purse, which is up from last years purse by $800,000.  With Mickelson on board now, the tournament will focus on getting more depth, something that has been difficult over the last few events.

With perfect weather, a large purse, and a head start on 2020, I don’t see why any golfers would avoid this event!

After falling out of the top 50 golfers in the world for the first time in 26 years, Phil is looking for his new diet and workout regimen to help him on tour now that he is looking at turning 50.

Last year, Adam Long won the event.  This years American Express will start on January 16, 2020.  It’s also been rumored that they will feature musical acts by country music star Luke Bryan, and Rock N Roll legend Stevie Nicks.  For more information, visit:  https://www.theamexgolf.com/.

  • Phil Mickelson Starts Fasting to Hopefully Improve Play

Our man Phil Mickelson has taken a drastic measure to help improve his play, which has been down lately.  He’s been fasting, according to an ESPN article published this morning.

Mickelson Loses 15 Pounds by Fasting

The fast was for six full days, and he lost a whopping 15 pounds during this fast.  He had been playing poorly since winning the AT & T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am earlier in 2019, and has missed cuts in four of his last six entries, which is highly uncharacteristic for the golf legend.

Here’s a photo screen shot of a video he uploaded to his Twitter channel where he talked about all of it.

    Phil Mickelson Fast
Phil has noticeably lost weight in his core.

“The last 10 days I’ve done what I call a hard reset to change and try and make things better,” said Mickelson in a video he posted on Twitter.

The 49 year old golfer dropped the extra weight by drinking exclusively water and a special coffee blend, and also doing a retreat.

Here’s to hoping the fast works, and the good old Lefty is back and better than ever in his next events. Phil, we’re rooting for you!

  • Phil Mickelson Denies Involvement in College Admissions Scandal

There has been a lot of news this week about the college admission scandal that has embroiled over 50 parents, including a few celebrities (such as Full House star Lori Loughlin and actress Felicity Huffman) who allegedly committed fraud to get their children enrolled in the college of their choice.

Allegations of the fraud include payment of bribes to cheat on proctored exams such as the SAT and ACT, as well as creating phony athlete profiles and bribing college coaches to get their kids enrolled as athletic recruits.

    Mickelson Used Rick Singer’s Services

The ringleader of this whole scam is a man by the name of Rick Singer, who ran a for-profit college admissions business and used it to funnel money from the parents to the test proctors and coaches to make the enrollment happen. When it seemed like we had heard all of the celebrity names tied to Singer earlier in the week, more names have been linked to him, including Phil Mickelson.

After completing his round at The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass on Thursday, Mickelson was met with the expected questioning regarding his relationship with Singer, and had this to say to the assemblage of reporters (as reported on golf.com):

“We, along with thousands of other families, hired he and his company to help us guide through the college application process. We’re probably more shocked than anyone and we’ve been dealing with it the last few days, but that’s about it.”

Following his meeting the media, he also posted this message on his Twitter account:

    Our Reaction

Is Phil Mickelson guilty of bribing college admissions?

Obviously, this is a fan site of the legend Phil Mickelson and we think this is all a bunch of bull. He has a wonderful family and talented, hard-working kids. By his own admission, he is a proud dad of how gifted and well-developed his children are. They have good grades, numerous extracurricular activities, and worldly views that have colleges fighting to get them as students.

We believe that Mickelson used Singer’s services like thousands of other parents, just (as he claimed) as a way to help them navigate the college admissions process. He has used Singer’s company for three years (he currently has a daughter who is a sophomore at Brown University) and got to know the tutors and administrative staff that got dozens of colleges on their radar and helped navigate through the confusing process.

We know a lot of people will look at this case with a bit of skepticism, as they are clouded by the stigma of his insider trading activity in the past. Let us remind you, he was cleared of any wrongdoing in that case and has strongly denied any illicit activity (just as he’s doing with this admissions scandal).

Until any definitive proof comes out that shows Mickelson was paying bribes for test-taking or admission, he is innocent until proven guilty in this. In all the other cases that made the news this week, there are wiretapped conversations and a paper trail of money being funneled. At this time, we’ve seen nothing along those lines with Phil, and believe he honestly used these services in the way he’s claimed.

He entered the day with a three shot lead after a weather-delayed Sunday and beat out Scott Stallings and Paul Casey on the final two holes to grab his fifth win at this exact event, which put him in a tie with Mark O’Meara for the all time record for number of wins.

Shooting a 19 under 268 for the week of golf, Mickelson attempted to get his playing partner, Pau Casey, to finish the round on Sunday as the sky turned black and visibility was very poor.  Casey argued that there wasn’t enough time to finish and the two argued back and forth prior to play being stopped with only two holes left.  At this point, Stallings was already finished with his round and had finished with a 15 under par score, which had him tied with Casey at the time.

Entering Sunday’s final round, Mickelson was behind by three strokes to Casey.  He shot a 7 under par 65 to take the championship from Casey, who himself was gunning for his third career title.

It’s good to see Lefty racking up the wins and continuing his trek into the record books.  Last time I updated the blog, Phil beat Tiger in “The Match.”

Six months from now, Phil will return to this same course and shoot for his final leg of the prestigious “Career Grand Slam” when he seeks a U.S. Open Victory.

You can bet your ass we’ll be cheering for him to win that one!

As Phil is in the twilight of his career, it’s amazing to see him playing this great of golf.  He’s won once and been runner up three times already in this early part of the season.  50 career wins is in sight, and Lefty is locked and loaded, shooting for yet another trophy for his impressive trophy case.

Until the next round – Go Lefty!

  • Phil Mickelson Vs. Tiger Woods

Two of the best to ever swing a golf club are about to go head to head this Thanksgiving week in an event aptly titled “the Match.”  Phil Mickelson vs. Tiger Woods will be televised and many side bets will be made.  Today I’ll explain what this is all about and fill you in on whats about to go down.

“The Match” Puts Phil Mickelson Versus Tiger Woods

Where else, but Las Vegas, would this event take place?  Both of these touring professionals are notorious gamblers who have huge bank accounts and even larger ego’s.  This game will include all the side bets one could ask for – and much more.  During televised PGA tour matches, there have been rumors of side bets taking place, but you’ll never see that stuff on TV.  However, that’s all about to change.

Featuring real-time oddsmaking, you’ll be able to see probabilities prior to shots that takes into consideration course-mapping information along with the players’ ShotLink data.  It’ll be comparable to watching the Poker Tour where you can see the cards each player is holding.  Let’s be honest folks, this is about Tiger vs. Phil, and money.  That’s it.  And we all know that both of them have a ton of cash in the bank already.  If you want to know exactly how much, just follow the links below.

Everyone who likes to golf knows that more often than not, gambling happens.  In Europe, bookies are abundant and waiting to take your action while you sit in a pub and watch the tournament.  Soon, the USA will have legalized gambling, and some States do already, but nationally, we don’t at the time of this post.

It’s worth noting that the PGA Tour supported (and continues to support) legalized wagering.  They have a lot of angles to make money off of the gambling, which I’ll talk about in a future article as that unfolds.

Jeff Sherman of the Westgate Sportsbook and Casino recently tweeted the odds:

    To Win Outright:

    Tiger Woods -200
    Phil Mickelson +170

Who would you take in Tiger Vs. Phil?

I’ll be back later to recap the event and let you know the FULL results.

  • Phil Mickelson Diet

Phil Mickelson has managed to make a name for him over the years by winning over 40 golf tournaments. With wins in the Open tournament and the PGA championship, the three Master title holders have managed to be successful for many years. Now the fifth best golf player has decided to allegedly become a vegetarian for the sake of his arthritis and overall health. He has switched to a healthier alternate known as the Paleo diet. The diet essentially limits down your gluten, sugar and processed food intake in order to lose weight fast but in a healthier way. He decided to get serious about his diet after the loss in 2013, in which he then decided to fully focus on his health.

I first read about his diet and exercise plan on this entry:  https://www.dietpillreviews.com/celebrity-diet-plans-to-lose-weight-fast/

What is Phil Mickelson’s Diet Program Like?

There are many problems that the human body can face such as obesity, heart disease and diabetes. These happen to accompany old age and can be highly detrimental. The diet is also known as the “Caveman” diet as it takes people back to their roots, to what our ancestors use to eat. Here are some things that Mickelson’s coach Cochran has suggested that anyone wanting to go on the Paleo diet needs to do. One thing that is important is the amount of exercise needed. The diet only requires you to eat foods that age old hunter gatherers used to eat. As you can tell, it’s pretty strict and extremely limited.

Mickelson has been using this as a means to lose weight effectively in order to gain ball speed and play more efficiently, with precision. It has managed to improve his health by eliminating high fat and processed foods which contain less to zero nutritional value. It emphasizes on the intake of fruits and vegetables, which have left Mickelson looking fresh and younger. The diet essentially contains healthy vitamins, which in term really helped out with Mickelson’s arthritis, minerals and fiber which help to fill up a person faster and cut down the calories. While the diet is important, so is the workout. Mickelson has managed to burn more calories than he takes in, which explains how he is in such good shape.

The diet contains of many food groups, mainly lean cuts of beef, pork, and poultry, preferably grass-fed, organic, or free-range selections which have proven to be healthier. Other meats include game animals, such as quail, venison, and bison. Dairy is not restricted unlike in other diets. The diet allows eggs, but no more than six a week. Free range does serve to be a better option overall, since it eliminates the mass production factor. For high protein, fish, including shellfish are a great source. Fruit, such as strawberries, cantaloupe, mango, and figs are most encouraged as they leave the system with vitamins. When it comes to vegetables, they have to be non-starchy, which include produce such as asparagus, onions, peppers, and pumpkin. Many do include nuts and seeds into the paleo diet such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, and pumpkin seeds, but most like to lay off them as they help to gain weight. Olive oil, flaxseed oil, and walnut oil are best alternates to sunflower or canola oil, as they are much healthier.

The diet essentially includes everything you need from a good, balanced diet. It works great for Phil, it should work great for you too!

  • Phil Mickelson Masters Outfit

If you haven’t heard by now, the great Phil “Lefty” Mickelson wore an outfit that drew plenty of ire at the Masters during the practice round last week.

It was an outfit that some said “was good for a business lunch.”  Others just said “what the heck is he wearing?”

What Did Phil Mickelson Wear During the Master’s Practice Round?

Well, see for yourself with this picture below.

  • Jordan Spieth Felt Phil Mickelson Snubbed Him for an Autograph

One of the up and coming golfers of the current era, Jordan Spieth, recently shared a story with Golf Digest that I had to come here and share with you.

You can read the full story right here.  Below, I’ve put the story in my own words.

    The Jordan Spieth Autograph Debacle

Many athletes differ on signing autographs for their fans.  You’ll find some, like Arnold Palmer, will go out of the their way to make people happy.  Others, well, not so much.

In a world where one reaction can have an impact on what people think of you, so many people can get rubbed the wrong way if they catch someone on the wrong day.  Phil is notably one of the better guys on tour, and he’ll make sure he signs autographs for people whenever possible.

    Jordan Spieth

That said, everyone has their good days, and their bad days.  Sometimes things just don’t work out for people, and time isn’t on their side.  Of course, this has happened to Phil like it’s happened to any other athlete or celebrity out there, and one of the times it happened to none other than legendary golfer Jordan Spieth, a three time major champion himself.

When he was in Austin recently before a WGC match, the phenom golfer was asked if he was ever slighted for a signature growing up.  His answer was classic.

    I’m quoting him below:

There was a time that I was out, I think at the Byron Nelson with my dad and Phil Mickelson and Davis Love III were on the putting green. And i was yelling at them, as I now get annoyed while I’m practicing when I’m getting yelled at, and they were talking and they said, ‘One second.’

“And when they finished, Phil was pulled off in a different direction and Davis came and signed for me. And I thought for the longest time that Phil just blew me off. And Davis was the nicest guy. And Phil, I didn’t care for as much for a little while because of that.”

Rightfully so, Spieth was upset with Lefty, and he didn’t forget it.  When he reflected on that moment, he mentioned that in the back of his mind, as an adult, he knows Phil was probably meeting with a sponsor or attending a mandatory media obligation.

The story came up recently, and when Spieth mentioned it to Phil himself, he said:

“I knew who you were, and I didn’t want to go over there and sign it,” Spieth relayed.

It’ll be an interesting situation if the two of them are paired up again soon!  They play at Augusta National in under two weeks.

  • Phil Mickelson Makes 100th Career Major Appearance

The famous golfer from San Diego, our reason for this fan website, is making his 100th appearance in a major PGA Championship this weekend.  Along with him making his 100th appearance is South African Ernie Els.  The two of them have been friends throughout their entire career competing against one another.

This is an elite club of golfers who have actually participated in 100 majors.

When Els took home his first major victory back in 1994, Curtis Strange, a two time U.S. Open championship winner, said that Els was the “next God.

However, the media missed on this quote, and what he was trying to say was that Els would be “the next guy.”  He has a very thick accent, apparently!

When Mickelson won the Masters at age 34, it was his first major tournament win.  Ironically, this came to be a win over Els.  On the final hole of competition, Mickelson made an 18 foot birdie putt for the win.  When Els heard the roar of the crowd on the putting green, he retrieved his belongings and left.

The two legends even received a cake for this triumph.

Jack Nicklaus leads the way with 164 career starts in a major.  After that, it’s Gary Player, Raymond Floyd, Tom Watson, Ben Crenshaw, Sam Snead, Tom Kite, Gene Sarazen, Nick Faldo, Mark O’Meara, and Bernhard Langer.  This elite list is only 14 golfers deep, so you can tell what kind of company Lefty just joined.

Every golfer on that list is in the Hall of Fame, and rightfully so.

Good luck to Phil, we’ll be cheering for you this weekend!
